Dietary diversity score and incident peptic ulcer in Chinese older adults: a prospective cohort study
Abstract Objective: To examine the association between dietary diversity score (DDS) and incident peptic ulcer among older Chinese adults. Methods: We analyzed four waves of CLHLS data (2008–2018) from 13,274 ulcer-free adults aged ≥65 years with complete covariate data. DDS (0–9) was derived from a 9-item food frequency questionnaire.
Assessment of childhood disease patterns in outpatient settings: a retrospective study from 2016 to 2020
Abstract Background and aim: The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has significantly impacted pediatric health. Although numerous studies in China have reviewed childhood diseases, specific patterns in certain regions still require more detailed analysis. This was a single-center retrospective study conducted at the Fifth People's Hospital of Wujiang District, Suzhou, Jiangsu, China.
Exploring dynamic accessibility gaps between urban village and commercial housing from the perspective of vertical inequity: a modified gravity model approach
ABSTRACT Urban villages (UVs) are rural settlements encircled by urban built areas. Constrained by economic conditions, residents in UV predominantly rely on low-cost public transit for daily travel, even if it requires multiple transfers, i.e. multiple impedances.

Anthraquinones derived from soil actinomycetes combat multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus - Communications Biology
Abstract The global spread of multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) poses serious threats to public health and food safety. In this study, the antibacterial potential of the anthraquinone compound 13394-2, derived from soil actinomycetes, was systematically evaluated. In vitro, 13394-2 exhibited potent activity (MIC as low as 0.25 μg/mL), rapid bactericidal effects, biofilm clearance, and concentration-dependent killing.

Improving urban emergency medical service systems through brownfield transformation in Huangshi, China - Scientific Reports
Abstract A comprehensive emergency medical service (EMS) system significantly enhances a city’s capacity to prevent and mitigate disasters. Using Huangshi as a case study, this research evaluated the service radium coverage rate of the current EMS system by examining its transport capacity, population density, and prevalence rate, finding it to be only 61.49% with an inefficient spatial layout. To address this, we proposed transforming urban brownfields into EMS parks.

SLC40A1 in iron metabolism, ferroptosis, and disease: A review
Solute carrier family 40 member 1 (SLC40A1) plays an essential role in transporting iron from intracellular to extracellular environments. When SLC40A1 expression is abnormal, cellular iron metabolism becomes dysregulated, resulting in an overload of intracellular iron, which induces cell ferroptosis. Numerous studies have confirmed that ferroptosis is closely associated with the development of many diseases.

A DARPin promotes faster onset of botulinum neurotoxin A1 action - Nature Communications
Abstract In this study, we characterize Designed Ankyrin Repeat Proteins (DARPins) as investigative tools to probe botulinum neurotoxin A1 (BoNT/A1) structure and function. We identify DARPin-F5 that completely blocks SNAP25 substrate cleavage by BoNT/A1 in vitro. X-ray crystallography reveals that DARPin-F5 inhibits BoNT/A1 activity by interacting with a substrate-binding region between the α- and β-exosite.

Optimized Design of a Hexagonal Equal Gap Silicon Drift Detector with Arbitrary Surface Electric Field Spiral
3.2. Effect of Cathode Gap Size on the Electrical Characteristics of Double-Sided Detectors Initially, double-sided SDDs were widely used as position sensitive detectors in particle physics [1,,]. In this paper, a novel detector structure for controlling the spiral ring cathode gap is investigated, i.e., keeping the gap small and constant to minimize the surface state and thus the surface leakage current, as a way to improve the detector performance.

Effect of Interlayer Compressed Argon Gas Active Cooling on Microstructure and Properties of Ti‐6Al‐4V Fabricated by WAAM
Abstract WAAM (Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing) has been widely used due to its advantages of high processing freedom, low cost and high efficiency. However, one of the most relevant unsolved problems in WAAM is the heat accumulation caused by high heat input. In this study, the compressed argon-based interlayer AC (Active Cooling) process is employed to reduce heat accumulation, and the influence mechanism on microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti-6Al-4V samples were revealed.

How Does the Built Environment in Urban Villages Affecting Ride-Sourcing Commuting Trips Interacting with the Spatial Dependence Effect
Abstract : Urban renewal provides opportunities to improve urban transport structures during the process of improving built environments. It is necessary to clarify the impact of different elements of the built environment on travel behaviors in the context of urban village renewal. This paper presents a microscopic perspective of individual travel behavior by proposing analytical frameworks to investigate travel behavior in terms of DiDi commuting trips.
