Attentional reorganization in heritage environments: depth of engagement and the expression of environmental decline
Abstract Introduction: Whether deeper engagement with a heritage place shields visitors from its environmental decline or sensitizes them to it remains unclear. This study examines how depth of engagement is associated with the way environmental conditions enter visitors' accounts of Xiaozhou Village, an artist-settled urban village in Guangzhou, China.
Single-nucleus transcriptomics reveals disrupted pathways in the prefrontal cortex of Scn2a -deficient mice
Abstract Loss-of-function variants in SCN2A, which encodes the NaV1.2 sodium channel critical for action potential initiation and backpropagation, are associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and epilepsy. To investigate SCN2A deficiency–related phenotypes, we developed a preclinical mouse model with severe NaV1.2 deficiency, which exhibits robust behavioral abnormalities related to autism and epilepsy.
Mechanobiological and microenvironmental roles of lymph nodes in cancer: implications for lymph node de-escalation
Abstract Prophylactic lymph node (LN) dissection has long been regarded as an important component of surgical treatment for many solid tumors, based largely on the traditional anatomical view that LNs serve as “relay stations” for tumor metastasis.
Case Report: squamous transformation after long-term osimertinib in EGFR-mutant lung adenocarcinoma with retained EGFR/TP53 alterations
Abstract Histological transformation is an important mechanism of acquired resistance to epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) in EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer. Compared with small cell transformation, acquired squamous transformation is uncommon and remains less well characterized. We report a 52-year-old woman who underwent thoracoscopic left upper lobectomy and wedge resection of the left lower lobe for lung adenocarcinoma in April 2021.
Heterogeneity in risk and potential pathogenic associations of NAFLD among distinct prediabetic phenotypes in young and middle-aged adults
Abstract Objective: Prediabetes exhibits a high comorbidity rate with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), significantly increasing the risks of diabetes progression and other complications. This study aims to clarify the differences in NAFLD risk among different prediabetes phenotypes and explore their underlying associations. Methods: A cohort of 2127 prediabetic individuals aged 18–59 years was enrolled.
The role of exosome derived miRNAs in inter-cell crosstalk among insulin-related organs in type 2 diabetes mellitus
Exosomes are small extracellular vesicles secreted by almost all cell types, and carry diverse cargo including RNA, and other substances. Recent studies have focused exosomal microRNAs (miRNAs) on various human diseases, including type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and metabolic syndrome (METS) which accompany the occurrence of insulin resistance.

Integrated multi-omics mapping of the causal landscape of gout across the circulating-tissue axis
Abstract Background: Gout is a prevalent inflammatory arthropathy driven by monosodium urate crystal deposition, yet the causal relationships between circulating biomarkers and disease susceptibility remain incompletely characterized. Establishing robust causal associations and mapping them to specific effector genes and tissues is essential for identifying mechanistically informed therapeutic targets.
Human microglia in brain assembloids display region-specific diversity and respond to hyperexcitable neurons carrying SCN2A mutation
Abstract Microglia critically shape neuronal circuit development and function, yet their region-specific properties and roles in distinct circuits of the human brain remain poorly understood. In this study, we generated region-specific brain organoids (cortical, striatal, and midbrain), each integrated with human microglia, to fill this critical gap.

A Serum‐Stable Antimicrobial Peptide‐Based Delivery Platform for Selective Treatment of Nontargetable and Chemoresistant Tumors
1 Introduction The introduction of antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) marks a significant milestone in targeted cancer therapy, offering highly selective cytotoxic effects against tumor cells while minimizing toxicity to healthy tissues.[1, 2] Since the approval of the first ADC in 2000,[3] a total of 14 ADCs have received market authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.[4] Despite this success, ADCs face notable limitations.
Neuroprotective peptide OL-FS13 attenuates cardiac apoptosis and myocardial infarction injury through Nrf2/HO-1 pathway
ABSTRACT Myocardial infarction (MI) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality globally, primarily due to oxidative stress-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis and adverse cardiac remodeling. OL-FS13, a neuroprotective peptide derived from Odorrana livida, has previously shown anti-apoptotic effects in cerebral ischemia models. However, its role in myocardial protection remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the cardioprotective effects of OL-FS13 in both in vitro and in vivo models of MI.

Abstract In recent years, the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model has been used to obtain reliable rainfall with higher spatial and temporal resolutions. The selection of physical parameterization schemes largely influences the WRF simulation.
Alzheimer’s disease patient brain extracts induce multiple pathologies in novel vascularized neuroimmune organoids for disease modeling and drug discovery | Molecular Psychiatry
Abstract Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia, afflicting 55 million individuals worldwide, with limited treatment available. Current AD models mainly focus on familial AD (fAD), which is due to genetic mutations. However, models for studying sporadic AD (sAD), which represents over 95% of AD cases without specific genetic mutations, are severely limited.
Restoration of excitation/inhibition balance enhances neuronal signal-to-noise ratio and rescues social deficits in autism-associated Scn2a-deficiency
Abstract Social behavior is critical for survival and adaptation, which is profoundly disrupted in autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Social withdrawal due to information overload was often described in ASD, and it was suspected that increased basal noise, i.e., excessive background neuronal activities in the brain could be a disease mechanism. However, experimental test of this hypothesis is limited.

Effects on the Synthesis and Accumulation of Triterpenes in Leaves of Cyclocarya paliurus under MeJA Treatment
1. Introduction Cyclocarya paliurus is the only species in the family Juglandaceae and has medicinal, healthcare, material, and ornamental values. It is also called “Qing-qian-liu” or “Yao- qian-shu” because its fruit cluster is seen as a string of old Chinese copper coins [1,2,3]. Various bioactive constituents are found in the leaves of C. paliurus, including flavonoids, triterpenes, polysaccharides, and steroids, which have been shown to have pharmaceutical bioactivities [4,5,6].

A frog‐derived antimicrobial peptide as a potential anti‐biofilm agent in combating Staphylococcus aureus skin infection
Abstract Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), one of the most prevalent bacteria found in atopic dermatitis lesions, can induce ongoing infections and inflammation by downregulating the expression of host defence peptides in the skin. In addition, the emergence of the ‘superbug’ Methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) has made the treatment of these infections more challenging.

Pressure Sensing of Symmetric Defect Photonic Crystals Composed of Superconductor and Semiconductor in Low-Temperature Environment
Abstract : We theoretically investigate the defect mode transmittance of light waves in superconductor–semiconductor photonic crystals and its pressure-sensing dependence. The photonic crystal is composed of alternating superconducting and semiconducting slabs and a defect locates at the center of this structure. Two trapezoid waveguides are fixed at both sides of the crystal, which induces the hydrostatic pressure applied and beams transmitted simultaneously.
