Assessment of Noninvasive Ear Molding: A Classification-Guided Approach
1 Introduction Auricular morphological deformity (AMD), encompassing conditions such as lop ear, prominent ear, cup ear, cryptotia, and Stahl's ear, is more prevalent than structural malformations. These deformities not only disrupt the natural aesthetic harmony of the auricle but may also exert varying degrees of negative psychological impact on affected children. While some AMD may self-correct [1], most require early intervention.
A modified four-zone classification of the posterior lumbar spinal canal: An anatomical study and clinical application in microchannel surgery
Abstract This study introduces and evaluates a modified four-zone classification of the posterior lumbar spinal canal, assessing its anatomical basis and clinical utility in guiding microchannel surgery. Current minimally invasive lumbar procedures rely predominantly on fluoroscopic imaging of bony landmarks for localization, often neglecting the consistent anatomical boundaries provided by the ligamentum flavum for surgical orientation and trajectory planning.
Cross-cancer homologous recombination deficiency prediction from whole slide images using transfer learning
Abstract Accurate prediction of Homologous Recombination Deficiency (HRD) is vital for personalized cancer therapy, yet genomic assays are often costly and complex. Predicting HRD from Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) stained whole-slide images (WSIs) via deep learning offers an alternative, but model generalization across diverse cancer types remains challenging. We developed a three-stage transfer learning framework to improve HRD prediction across cancer types.
Unraveling the implications of ULBP1 expression from pan-cancer to head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
Abstract UL-16 binding protein 1 (ULBP1), a ligand for the NK cell-stimulatory receptor NKG2D, is expressed as a cell-surface protein on malignant cells. While accumulating evidence links ULBP1 to cancer progression, its pan-cancer immunological and clinical significance remains underexplored. Through systematic bioinformatics analyses of 33 malignancies, we uncovered that widespread ULBP1 dysregulation across cancers was associated with advanced tumor staging and patient survival.
Non-gestational choriocarcinoma presenting as cervical lymphadenopathy in a male patient: a case report
Abstract Non-gestational choriocarcinoma (NGCC) is a rare and highly aggressive malignancy in male patients and is frequently diagnosed at an advanced stage because of its atypical clinical manifestations. We report the case of a 38-year-old male patient who presented a unilateral cervical tumor without associated genitourinary symptoms. Histopathological examination combined with immunohistochemical analysis subsequently confirmed the diagnosis of NGCC.
Remaining useful life prediction across different operational conditions based on domain adaptation feature transfer
Abstract To address the challenge of data distribution discrepancy in cross-condition remaining useful life (RUL) prediction, this paper proposes a domain adaptation feature transfer framework. The framework integrates the ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) with deep denoising autoencoders (DAE) to extract degradation-sensitive features. Subsequently, transfer component analysis (TCA) is adopted to align the feature distributions between the source and target domains.

Polar solvent strategy enables scalable synthesis of perovskite nanocrystal scintillators for fast X-ray imaging
Abstract The increasing demand for high-speed X-ray imaging requires scintillators with high light yield and fast response. Perovskite nanocrystals are promising candidates due to their distinctive optical properties and solution processability. However, the fabrication of thick X-ray films, which are several orders of magnitude thicker than conventional optoelectronic devices, leads to severe material waste and reduced light yield caused by strong spectral overlap and self-absorption.
Caspase-8-mediated CYLD cleavage boosts LPS-induced endotoxic shock
Abstract Caspase-8, a key protease in cell death and inflammation, plays a significant role in cytokine production during septic shock, although its precise mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we found that mice with a specific CYLD mutation at D215 (CyldD215A/D215A), rendering CYLD resistant to caspase8 cleavage, exhibited marked protection against lethal endotoxic shock.
Study on the impact of big data sharing on individuals’ welfare—from the perspective of consumption and privacy
Abstract This paper constructs a macro-level theoretical framework, grounded in the theory of creative destruction, to explain how big data sharing affects individuals’ welfare from the perspectives of consumption and privacy. First, we treat data as a new type of production factor and endogenize it within the production function. We then propose an innovative view: individuals’ welfare is influenced by both the privacy cost of big data sharing and their consumption levels.

Static Design to Adaptive Control: How Artificial Intelligence Improves Modern Material Handling Equipment Systems
Throughput demands in fulfillment and distribution operations are now outpacing the fixed design assumptions of many material handling equipment (MHE) systems. In many operations, these systems still meet daily demand, but only by stretching schedules, extending labor hours, or absorbing last-minute rerouting. Over time, this mismatch reveals limits that mechanical reliability and fixed control logic alone cannot address.
