A mechanobiological hypothesis on bone cement-induced progression of bone metastases
Abstract We propose the hypothesis that long-term alterations in the local biomechanical environment (a significant increase in stiffness and changes in stress distribution) induced by the implantation of bone cement for treating bone metastases may, by activating mechanotransduction pathways in tumor cells, potentially promote their proliferation, invasion, and therapy resistance, thereby affecting long-term disease progression.

Clinical effects of integrated Chinese medicine therapy for postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction: a prospective patient-preference cohort study
Abstract Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of Dabu-Yuanjian Tisheng formula combined with acupoint stimulation for postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD) compared with single-modality and standard rehabilitation. Methods: This prospective, patient-preference observational study enrolled 212 postpartum women diagnosed with PFD, who chose one of four management options after standardized counseling.
The impact of statin therapy on the prognosis of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Abstract Background: Statins are increasingly recognized for their potential to reduce endocrine therapy resistance and improve overall survival in breast cancer. However, their specific prognostic impact on hormone receptor-positive (HR+) breast cancer remains incompletely understood. This study aims to evaluate the effect of statin use on recurrence and mortality in HR+ breast cancer patients through a comprehensive meta-analysis.

CT-guided iodine-125 brachytherapy for sacral metastasis with neural canal invasion: a case report of clinical outcome and dosimetry
Abstract Sacral metastasis with neural canal invasion may cause severe pain and progressive neurological dysfunction, while local treatment is challenging because of the proximity of the sacral nerve roots, lumbosacral plexus, rectum, and bladder. We report a 65-year-old man with lung adenocarcinoma and a progressive sacral metastasis causing radiating pain, sensory impairment, lower-extremity weakness, and difficulty walking despite systemic treatment.

Iodine-125 brachytherapy triggers immunogenic cell death and potentiates anti-PD-L1 immunotherapy in bone metastatic triple-negative breast cancer
Abstract Introduction: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) with bone metastasis is challenging to treat due to an immunosuppressive microenvironment and the limited, transient immune activation from conventional external beam radiotherapy. Inducing immunogenic cell death (ICD) offers a strategy to remodel this environment, but its systemic effects remain to be validated.
Spatially optimized 125I brachytherapy: a novel immunomodulatory approach based on spatially fractionated radiation therapy principles
1 Introduction to SFRT and iodine-125 brachytherapy Over the past decades, radiation therapy has been increasingly recognized for its potential to stimulate antitumor immune responses beyond its direct cytotoxic effects. Emerging evidence suggests that radiation can convert tumors into “in situ vaccines” by inducing immunogenic cell death, releasing tumor antigens, and remodeling the tumor microenvironment (1, 2).

Frontiers | Iodine-125 brachytherapy for orbital-invasive low-grade myxofibrosarcoma of the maxillary sinus: a case report challenging conventional therapeutic paradigms
1 Introduction Low-Grade Fibromyxoid Sarcoma (LGFMS) is a rare soft tissue sarcoma, with an incidence of approximately 0.18 per million population, accounting for 0.6% of all soft tissue sarcomas. It predominantly affects young adults, primarily involving the deep soft tissues of the extremities (especially the thighs and shoulders) and trunk (1). Rare cases may occur in unusual sites such as the head and neck, paranasal sinuses, or breast (2).
Disruption of Mitochondrial Dynamics and Stasis Leads to Liver Injury and Tumorigenesis
Abstract Background & Aims Mitochondrial dysfunction has been implicated in aging and various cancer development. As highly dynamic organelles, mitochondria constantly undergo fission, mediated by dynamin-related protein 1 (DRP1, gene name Dnm1l), and fusion, regulated by mitofusin 1 (MFN1), MFN2, and optic atrophy 1 (OPA1). However, whether and how dysregulation of mitochondria dynamics would be involved in liver pathogenesis and tumorigenesis is unknown.

Recent insights about autophagy in pancreatitis
Introduction Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a common gastrointestinal disease with an annual incidence rate of 34 per 100 000 person-years in developed countries. This disease is characterised by an increased necrosis of acinar cells, followed by a local and systemic inflammatory response, and has a varied clinical course. Most patients present with mild acute pancreatitis, which self-resolves within a week.

An Approach of Improving the Efficiency of Software Fault Localization based on Feedback Ranking Information
1.2. A Motivation Example Table 1 shows the median calculation program. The fault localization is at S6, and m equals b should be m equals a. T1 and T2 are 2 test cases, and the specific value is (4, 2, 5) and (2, 2, 3). We mark the execution times of each line of the program. After the test cases are executed, the test oracle of a successful test case is pass, otherwise, the test oracle is fail. The spectral information for this program is thus obtained.

Correction to “Identification of Tumor Specific Peptide as EpCAM Ligand and Its Potential Diagnostic and Therapeutic Clinical Application”
Recently, our manuscript entitled “Identification of Tumor Specific Peptide as EpCAM Ligand and Its Potential Diagnostic and Therapeutic Clinical Application” was accepted for publication in Molecular Pharmaceutics (DOI: 10.1021/acs.molpharmaceut.9b00185). However, when the manuscript was published online, we found three mistakes in Figures 6C, 8B, and S3B. Figure 6C Figure 6C. The picture of anti-EpCAM-Cy3 mAb on HT29 cells with EpCAM knockdown by siRNA2 was incorrect and changed as shown below.

Acetylation and Amination Protect Angiotensin 1-7 from Physiological Hydrolyzation and Therefore Increases Its Antitumor Effects on Lung Cancer
The recently reported inhibitory effects of angiotensin 1–7 (Ang-(1–7)) on various cancers indicate its potential use as a therapeutic agent for primary and metastatic cancers. However, its extremely short half-life in the circulation greatly compromises its potential applications. Here, we reported an Ang-(1–7) analogue peptide with the amino and carboxy termini protected by acetylation and amination.

Diagnostic efficacy of noninvasive liver fibrosis indexes in predicting portal hypertension in patients with cirrhosis
The results of a multivariate analysis of serum markers showed that AST values, platelet (PLT) count and albumin (ALB) were associated with PH grade. Among the seven—fibrosis indexes, King’s score, APRI and the Lok index showed modest diagnostic accuracy in predicting CSPH and SPH, as indicated by AUC of 0.755 and 0.742, 0.740 and 0.742, and 0.722 and 0.717, respectively.
