Influence of elevated temperature on hydride formation and hydrogen-assisted deformation in pure titanium
Abstract The effect of temperature on hydride formation and hydrogen-induced deformation in α-Ti was investigated using tensile testing combined with in-situ SEM observations. Microstructural characterization of hydrogen-charged and deformed specimens at both room temperature and 80 °C demonstrates that temperature significantly alters both the hydride phase and the mechanical response of the α-Ti matrix.

Multi-omics reveals the DR5-FXR-CHPT1 axis governs hepatocyte pyroptosis via glycerophospholipid remodeling after major partial hepatectomy in male mice
Abstract Severe liver injury following major partial hepatectomy (PHx) carries high mortality, yet the mechanisms driving irreversible cell death remain poorly understood. Here we show that aberrant lipid metabolism drives inflammatory cell death in the remaining liver tissue. Integrating data from male mouse models and human tissues, we found that death receptor 5 (DR5) acts as a critical regulator.

The ferroptosis-related LncRNA CASC9 reveals its potential as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
Abstract This study aimed to investigate the role of ferroptosis-related long non-coding RNA CASC9 in the carcinogenic process of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and evaluate its clinical diagnostic and prognostic value. LncRNA microarray screening was performed to identify differentially expressed genes in ESCC tissues. CASC9 expression was validated in 150 paired ESCC tissues, precancerous lesions, and cell lines by qRT-PCR.
Integrating construction and solar expansion can reduce disposal and dependency
Cities across the Middle East are rapidly expanding through construction while simultaneously scaling solar energy, yet these transitions remain materially disconnected. Recognizing construction waste as part of urban resource systems could help to close this gap.

Van der Waals strain hardening and large uniform tensile elongation in GaSe
|
Abstract Van der Waals (vdW) semiconductors are promising candidates for next-generation electronic devices. Although plasticity has been observed in these materials, strain hardening and large uniform tensile elongation remain elusive. Here we report that GaSe single crystals exhibit exceptional tensile ductility when loaded along directions inclined to the [0001] zone axis, achieving uniform tensile elongation exceeding 40% together with pronounced strain hardening.

MedNet-FS: a few-shot learning framework for 3D MRI-based knee injury classification
Abstract The development of deep learning models for 3D knee MRI analysis is critically constrained by the scarcity of large, annotated datasets. Few-shot learning (FSL) offers a promising pathway to leverage small data, but its effective application to volumetric medical imaging remains underexplored.

Cascaded amplification of air lasing
Abstract Air lasing initiated by femtosecond laser filamentation holds exciting prospects for remote sensing. However, low output energies restrict its practical applications. We demonstrate a cascaded amplification strategy that breaks this critical barrier. By implementing quadruple-pass focusing of 5.7-millijoule, 800-nanometer femtosecond pulses in nitrogen, we achieve a 40-fold enhancement in the energy of N2+ lasing, yielding an output of approximately 4.4 microjoules.

Investigating electrochemical charging conditions equivalent to hydrogen gas exposure of X65 pipeline steel
1 INTRODUCTION With hydrogen emerging as a clean energy carrier,[1] the transportation and storage of pressurized hydrogen gas have gained recent interest,[2-6] for example, repurposing existing natural gas pipelines for hydrogen gas transportation.[7] Pipelines should withstand pressures in the range 150–200 bar, due to the low energy density of hydrogen gas.[8] Hydrogen can degrade a material's mechanical properties, a phenomenon known as hydrogen embrittlement (HE).[9] Because of safety...

Enhanced Low-Temperature Thermoelectric Performance in the Two-Dimensional A$\mathrm{Mn}$X Family
Abstract Thermoelectric (TE) coolers show considerable promise for replacing aging refrigeration devices, which suffer from the poor low-temperature performance of most TE materials due to the small entropy of carriers and weak lattice vibrational anharmonicity. Here we propose that two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors with multiple bonding layers can be potential TE cooling materials, and the 2D AMnX (A = Sr,Ba; X = Sn,Pb) family is identified as an example.
