Abstract The aim of this study was to determine the trend in different diet quality scores and dietary CO2 emissions in the Eastern Mediterranean region (EMR) and globally. We used data from the global dietary database to assess diet quality using Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH), modified Planetary Health Diet index (PHDI), and Mediterranean diet (MED). CO2-equivalents (CO2 eq) emissions were calculated using carbon footprint methodology and compared by Wilcoxon test.

Research on API among medical interns remains limited. This study applies social cognitive theory (SCT) to explore the formation mechanism of API in Chinese medical interns and proposes strategies to enhance professional identity.

1 Background Hypertension and diabetes are two common chronic diseases that present major challenges for health systems [1, 2]. Their effective management is pivotal for mitigating cardiovascular and renal risks, yet rural areas encounter significant hurdles in achieving optimal control [3]. More than 270 million people are living with hypertension in China, and the recorded prevalence of diabetes has risen more than tenfold from less than 1% in 1980 to 12.8% in 2017 [4, 5].
