Precise Disease Analysis and Diagnosis Driven by DNA Circuits: From Single Target to Multiple Targets, From Simple to Intelligent
1 Introduction Throughout history, diseases have consistently influenced human health and global public health. According to a global survey conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO), the top ten causes of death worldwide in 2021 all pertained to the domain of diseases. These causes were responsible for 39 million deaths, accounting for 57% of the total 68 million deaths that year [1].

A bit-parallel molybdenum disulfide computer built through multi-level co-optimization
Abstract The sustainable development of artificial intelligence requires energy-efficient computing technology. Two-dimensional semiconductor digital electronics could potentially provide such capabilities, and promising single devices and small circuits have been developed. However, very large-scale integration remains challenging due to the inability to control atomic-scale defects and mesoscopic device variations, as well as the lack of macroscopic variation-aware design methodology.
Building with Light: Photoactive Colloids as the Next Generation Meta-Atoms Click to copy article link Article link copied!
Self-assembly represents one of the most powerful construction principles in nature: from the crystalline formation of opals to the folding of polypeptide chains into functional proteins, complex architectures emerge spontaneously from the bottom-up organization of simple building blocks. (1,2) In artificial systems, colloids have emerged as particularly attractive assembly units because they provide a unique balance between interaction tunability and dynamics traceability.
SNX-mediated biogenesis of a plant-unique vesicle derived from the multivesicular body
Abstract Retrograde transport is central to endomembrane homeostasis, yet the identity and origin of plant retrograde carriers remain unresolved. Prevailing models propose that plant vacuolar sorting receptors (VSRs) recycle either from multivesicular bodies (MVBs) to the trans-Golgi network (TGN) or from the TGN to the Golgi apparatus and/or endoplasmic reticulum (ER). However, the ultrastructural features of plant retrograde transport carriers remain largely unresolved.

Structural and Functional Characterization of EXPO‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles in Plants
1 Introduction Exocytosis is a critical secretory pathway in all eukaryotic cells, involving multiple membrane-bound organelles that coordinate the transport and delivery of proteins and lipids. In general, there are two main exocytic pathways; namely, the conventional protein secretion (CPS) and unconventional protein secretion (UPS) pathways.
Effect of austempering treatment on microstructure and wear resistance of carburised G13Cr4Mo4Ni4V Steel
ABSTRACT By means of heat treatment, microstructure observation, and mechanical property tests, the effects of salt-bath austempering treatment on the microstructure, hardness and wear resistance of carburised G13Cr4Mo4Ni4 V steel were studied. The results show that from the surface to the core of the steel, the carbon concentration gradually decreased from 1.47% to 0.13%.

GbSER02 Interacts With GhVOZ1 to Promote Fiber Elongation by Modulating Gibberellin Synthesis in Cotton
1 Introduction Cotton is a globally significant cash crop and a major natural textile. Cotton fibers are unicellular structures that arise from the trichome primordia in the epidermis of the ovule.[1, 2] Fiber growth and morphogenesis undergo four key developmental stages: initiation, elongation, secondary cell wall formation, and maturation.[3] Fiber elongation has gained increasing attention owing to its critical role in determining fiber yield and quality.

Mercury risk in blue carbon ecosystems - Nature Sustainability
The co-accumulation and close interactions of climate-friendly organic carbon and neurotoxic mercury in coastal ecosystems show that nature-based solutions to the climate crisis can alter the global mercury cycle and risk. Nature-based mitigation and adaptation strategies should therefore consider the carbon–mercury nexus to maximize sustainability goals.

Human activities shape important geographic differences in fish mercury concentration levels - Nature Food
Abstract Fish consumption is a major route of human exposure to mercury (Hg), yet limited understanding of how anthropogenic activities drive geographic variations in fish Hg worldwide hinders effective Hg pollution management. Here we characterized global geographic variations in total Hg (THg) and methylmercury (MeHg), compared THg and MeHg levels between the United States and China, and used a structural equation model to link the geographic variability of MeHg in fish to human activities.

Reprogrammable and reconfigurable mechanical computing metastructures with stable and high-density memory
Abstract Mechanical computing encodes information in deformed states of mechanical systems, such as multistable structures. However, achieving stable mechanical memory in most multistable systems remains challenging and often limited to binary information. Here, we report leveraging coupling kinematic bifurcation in rigid cube–based mechanisms with elasticity to create transformable, multistable mechanical computing metastructures with stable, high-density mechanical memory.

Study on the Optimization of Multi-Objective Water Resources Allocation in the Henan Yellow River Water Supply Zone
1. Introduction Water, as a fundamental component of Earth’s natural resources, is intricately linked to all facets of human social development [1,2]. However, due to the combined effects of human activities and climate change, the dynamics of the regional water cycle have undergone some alterations. This, in turn, has resulted in notable shifts in the quality, quantity, and spatial-temporal distribution of water resources [3,4].

Mercury methylation in boreal aquatic ecosystems under oxic conditions and climate change: a review
Introduction Mercury (Hg) is a heavy metal with no physiological role for any known life form. It can be naturally found in geological deposits and coal, but human activities have greatly enhanced the mobilisation and transport of Hg into natural environments (Streets et al., 2011; Mason et al., 2012).

Distribution of stable isotopes of Mo and W from a river to the ocean: signatures of anthropogenic pollution
1 Introduction The chemical species of dissolved molybdenum and tungsten depend on the concentrations of oxygen and sulfide in the aquatic environment (Emerson and Huested, 1991; Helz et al., 1996; Cui et al., 2021), which in turn change their concentrations and stable isotope ratios in the sediments (Tsujisaka et al., 2019), making them useful redox proxies for paleoceanography.
