Alternative antibiotic regimens improve palatability and welfare in mice for gut bacterial depletion
Abstract Here we evaluated vancomycin–neomycin or enrofloxacin–ampicillin treatments as alternatives to the poorly tolerated ampicillin–metronidazole–vancomycin–neomycin cocktail for gut bacterial depletion in mice. Both regimens were well tolerated in drinking water and did not reduce food intake or body weight. Metabolic profiling showed reduced bacterial metabolic activity in both groups, but a marked reduction in total bacterial abundance only in the enrofloxacin–ampicillin group.

Regulator of G‐Protein Signalling Protein AaRgs2 Negatively Regulates Appressorium‐Like Formation of Alternaria alternata Induced by Pear Cutin Monomer via the AaRgs2‐AaGα1‐AaAC Module
1 Introduction The attachment and penetration of plant surfaces is the most important process in various plant–fungal interactions (Chethana, Jayawardena, Chen, et al. 2021). Appressoria, as the most extensively studied pathogenic fungal infection structures, play a vital role in many devastating plant diseases (Chethana, Jayawardena, Chen, et al. 2021). Numerous plant-pathogenic fungi such as Magnaporthe oryzae (Hyde et al. 2020), Colletotrichum gloeosporioides (Wang et al.

Effects of Ambient pH on the Growth and Development, Pathogenicity, and Diacetoxyscirpenol Accumulation of Muskmelon Fruit Caused by Fusarium sulphureum
1. Introduction Fusarium sulphureum is an important postharvest pathogenic fungus and can cause postharvest diseases of muskmelon and potato tuber [1,2]. Postharvest diseases caused by F. sulphureum not only deteriorate the postharvest quality of fruit and vegetables but also lead to diacetoxyscirpenol (DAS) contamination in fruit and vegetables. DAS is a highly toxic type A trichothecene that can contaminate food and animal feed, thus causing serious harm to human and animal health [3]. F.

Exogenous BR delayed peach fruit softening by inhibiting pectin degradation enzyme genes
1 Introduction Peach is a fruit native to China. It is loved by consumers all over the world because of its excellent flavor and rich nutrition. At present, China is the world’s peach production leader and has become a major producer (Cai et al., 2023). Peach fruits are typical respiratory mutant fruits (Kou et al., 2021).
A Source Seeking Method for the Implicit Information Field Based on a Balanced Searching Strategy
5.2. Comparison of Different Algorithms Gradient descent algorithm (GDA): Assuming that the mobile carrier can obtain the magnetic field distribution of adjacent elements, the source finding problem described in Equation (5) was transformed into a dynamic multi-objective optimization problem, and the source finding path could be solved using the gradient descent method. This result was denoted as the ideal path.
Effects of Aspergillus niger Infection on the Quality of Jujube and Ochratoxin: A Cumulative Effect
Abstract : The jujube is one of the most popular fruits in China because of its delicious taste and high nutritional value. It has a long history of usage as an important food or traditional medicine. However, the jujube is easily infected by fungi, which causes economic losses and threatens human health. When the jujube was infected by Aspergillus niger (H1), the changes in nutritional qualities were determined, such as the content of total acid, vitamin C, reducing sugar, etc.

Indocyanine Green Uptake and Periodic Acid-Schiff Staining Method for Function Detection of Liver Cells are Affected by Different Cell Confluence
Abstract Hepatic stem cell transplantation has been demonstrated as an effective alternative therapy for the end-stage liver failure patients. Therefore, the functional detection of hepatic stem cell is essentially required.
OsPIN1b is Involved in Rice Seminal Root Elongation by Regulating Root Apical Meristem Activity in Response to Low Nitrogen and Phosphate
LN- and LP-enhanced NO production resulted in the elongation of seminal roots (Supplementary Fig. S1a,c,d), as reported previously44. The effects of NO on auxin status in rice were investigated using transgenic plants expressing the pDR5::GUS construct. Compared with the control, pDR5::GUS intensity and IAA concentrations decreased in LN- and LP-treated root tips of WT plants (Supplementary Fig. S1b–e).
