Abstract Random skin flaps are commonly used in plastic and reconstructive surgeries. However, one of the most serious postoperative complications is the necrosis of distal portion of flap, which is mainly caused by a lack of blood flow. The nuclear factor erythroid-2 related factor 2 (Nrf2) can directly regulate the activity of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1).

Association between triglyceride glucose index and severity of diabetic foot ulcers in type 2 diabetes mellitus - Journal of Foot and Ankle Research

In this study, we retrospectively investigated the relationship between the TyG index and severity of DFUs in Southeast of China and revealed that the TyG index was significantly associated with the Wagner classification, independent of conventional diabetic foot risk factors, including age, gender, BMI, smoking, alcohol, PAD, duration of diabetes ≥ 10 years, HB, ALB, HbA1c, eGFR, TC, LDL-C, HDL-C.
