Transitional care gaps and caregiver burden after ICU discharge: a cross-sectional study of patient–caregiver dyads
Abstract Background: Survivors of critical illness experience post-intensive care syndrome (PICS), and family caregivers bear a parallel burden, PICS-family, while gaps in transitional-care services persist. We aimed to determine the prevalence of a high transitional-care gap after intensive care unit (ICU) discharge (primary outcome) and to assess whether it was associated with caregiving burden and psychological strain; a secondary aim was to assess residence-related access barriers.

Abstract Background: Gut microbiota plays a significant role in the occurrence and progression of multisystem disease. Previous studies have indicated that the intestinal microenvironment is closely linked to metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, yet its underlying mechanism remains unclear. We aimed to explore the association between the gut microbiota-metabolite network and cardiovascular function with the transcriptomic changes in the myocardium of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) mice.
