Therapy-induced senescence rewires the melanoma secretome to promote antitumor immune response and augment cell therapies
Many pharmacological agents used in oncology can induce senescence in malignant cells. Therapy-induced senescence (TIS) is associated with a secretory program that includes various immune mediators and can vary extensively based on the drug and tumor type. The impact of TIS on the tumor immune microenvironment must be studied to harness senescence as a tool to enhance antitumor immunity and immunotherapy responses in cancer.
