Abstract Immunometabolic reprogramming is increasingly recognized as a critical regulator of macrophage activation and function. This study aimed to elucidate the role of the SREBP2-cholesterol biosynthetic pathway in M2 activation of interstitial macrophages (IMs) during allergic asthma. We observed a significant expansion of M2-polarized IMs with heightened SREBP2-cholesterol biosynthetic activity in the lungs of asthmatic mice.

To the Editor: Sekiguchi et al1 present a multicenter prospective cohort study evaluating clinical outcomes of endoscopic resection (ER) in elderly patients with early gastric cancer (EGC), exploring new indications and curability criteria. Their findings confirm the effectiveness of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for elderly patients meeting ER indications, and they propose lesions ≤3 cm and elderly-low (EL-L) as new criteria.
