Cell-based CRISPRa screen identifies a papillae-specific receptor kinase mediating broad-spectrum fungal resistance in rice
Abstract Gain-of-function screens enable the discovery of gene functions and candidate targets for molecular breeding. Here we developed a protoplast-based dCas9-TV-mediated CRISPR activation screen in rice and identified OsTV1, an epidermal papillae-specific receptor kinase, as a positive regulator of fungal resistance. OsTV1 overexpression enhanced silicon deposition, leaf rigidity and basal defence gene expression, conferring broad-spectrum fungal resistance without compromising growth.
Genome sequencing based sequential diagnostic strategy improve diagnosed yield of pediatric genetic kidney disease: a national multicenter study
|
Abstract Genetic kidney disease (GKD) is a major cause of pediatric chronic kidney disease. Many patients remain genetically unresolved by exome sequencing (ES) and copy number variation (CNV) analysis. Genome sequencing (GS) enables a comprehensive detection of genetic variations. This study evaluates a GS-based sequential strategy to determine the diagnostic yield in pediatric GKD.

2D materials assisted terahertz modulators and sensors
Abstract Terahertz (THz) technology, with its unique advantages of high-bandwidth transmission, non-ionizing radiation, and molecular fingerprint recognition, has emerged as a powerful platform for next-generation wireless communications and non-destructive sensing applications. However, the advancement of THz technology remains constrained, partly due to the lack of efficient functional devices. Consequently, the materials used to fabricate the devices have drawn significant attention.
