Integrating early-life gut microbiota with maternal–infant clinical data to classify mild head-circumference restriction at one month
Abstract Early head circumference is a vital proxy for neurodevelopment. We investigated whether the one-month gut microbiome adds predictive value to clinical factors for mild growth restriction. We analyzed anthropometry and stool 16S rRNA gene sequencing from 161 mother–infant dyads in a prospective cohort.
Cold exposure aggravates vein occlusion through non-shivering thermogenesis-induced thrombocytopoiesis
Abstrats Vein occlusion (VO), including deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and retinal vein occlusion (RVO), is a common cause of multiple diseases that severely compromise the quality of life of affected individuals. Epidemiological evidence indicates that VO prevalence increases in cold seasons, yet the underlying mechanism remains unknown. Here, we show that cold exposure markedly elevates peripheral platelet counts, thereby aggravating VO in mouse models.
Case Report: Overlap of long QT syndrome and catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia in two Chinese children with CALM2 -related calmodulinopathy
Abstract Introduction: Calmodulinopathy is a rare CALM-related hereditary channelopathy presenting with long QT syndrome (LQTS), less commonly with catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) or LQTS/CPVT overlap. It carries high mortality and limited data from Chinese population. Methods: We reviewed two Chinese children with CALM2 mutation-related LQTS/CPVT overlap. Clinical data, genetic findings, and treatments were collected; outcomes were obtained via telephone follow-up.
