To the Editor, We read with great interest the study by Freppel et al., which used interstitial lung disease (ILD) to illustrate how MedDRA coding may vary across time, countries and reporter types in pharmacovigilance databases.1 The authors make an important practical point: For a clinically heterogeneous syndrome such as drug-induced ILD, the apparent simplicity of a database query can conceal substantial semantic complexity.

To the Editor, We read with great interest the study by Jung and Park examining factors associated with medication safety competence among nurses at different clinical career stages (Jung and Park 2026). The authors offer a clinically relevant reminder that medication safety is shaped not only by individual knowledge, but also by communication and the organizational environment. Nevertheless, four issues may help place these findings more firmly within contemporary nursing practice.
