Introduction With the continuous advancement and refinement of gene-editing technologies, the CRISPR/Cas9 system has been successfully applied in molecular design breeding of poplar, Arabidopsis, tobacco and various crop species (Wada et al., 2020). Currently, the CRISPR/Cas9 system is capable of editing multiple genes simultaneously (Zsögön et al., 2018; Li et al., 2018).
