1 INTRODUCTION The triglyceride-glucose index (TyG index), which is defined on the basis of calculating the values of triglycerides (TG) and fasting blood glucose (FBG) has been identified as prognostic indicators in various disorders including metabolic disease,1 cardiovascular disease,2 digestive disease, malignant tumour3 and even COVID-19.4 Most of the studies showed the positive relationship between TyG index and clinical outcomes.
