Climate change is becoming a significant issue as global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions continue to rise. The exponential increase in GHG emissions in the world are directly responsible for global warming, increasing the average surface air temperature by about 1° C since 1900 [1]. The vast majority of that increase has occurred since 1990 and can be directly correlated with the expanded use of fossil fuels [1].
