Pharmaceutical nanosuspensions, composed mainly of drug nanocrystals stabilized by small amounts of excipients, can improve dissolution and have been translated into several oral products and long-acting injectables. However, their simple compositions do not make them biologically inert.
Investigating the human anellome across the lifespan reveals sex-specific biphasic trajectories
Abstract Anelloviruses dominate the human plasma virome, yet their lifespan dynamics and relationships with the immune system are unclear. We integrated metagenomics with cytokines, HERV-K, and CMV profiling across 405 individuals (0–100 years) and found that prevalence, abundance, and diversity varied non-linearly with age and by sex. Alphatorqueviruses accumulated progressively with age, while betatorqueviruses and gammatorqueviruses displayed biphasic, female-specific patterns.

Abstract Accurate assessment of protein translation is crucial for understanding disease variant functions, but mRNA-protein discrepancy limits transcriptomics-based clinical oncology. While ribosome profiling directly measures translation, its clinical application is constrained by cost and complexity. Deep learning models like Translatomer infer translation efficiency from RNA-seq, but whether in silico translatomes provide superior clinical utility over standard RNA-seq remains unexplored.
