Abstract Once considered rare in eukaryotes, polycistronic mRNA expression has been identified in kinetoplastids and, more recently, green algae, red algae, and certain fungi. This study provides comprehensive evidence supporting the existence of polycistronic mRNA expression in the apicomplexan parasite Cryptosporidium parvum.
