Ground-based radar unveils natural electron Bernstein waves in the ionosphere of Earth
Abstract Electron Bernstein waves (EBWs) are electrostatic modes that propagate perpendicular to the magnetic field in magnetized plasmas, serving as a diagnostic tool for understanding plasma properties and the energetic particles that drive energy transport. However, their naturally occurring harmonic structures have long eluded ground-based radar detection due to their faint signals and the requirement for an observational geometry nearly perpendicular to the geomagnetic field.

Deep learning empowers photothermal microscopy with super-resolution capabilities
In the past two decades, photothermal microscopy (PTM) has achieved sensitivity at the level of a single particle or molecule and has found applications in the fields of material science and biology. PTM is a far-field imaging method; its resolution is restricted by the diffraction limits. In our previous work, the modulated difference PTM (MDPTM) was proposed to improve the lateral resolution, but its resolution improvement was seriously constrained by information loss and artifacts.

Optical encoding and hiding scheme for a double image based on chaotic fingerprint phase masks and phase-shifting digital holography
This paper proposes a novel, to the best of our knowledge, double-image hiding scheme based on the chaotic fingerprint phase masks (CFPMs) and three-step phase-shifting digital holography (PSDH). First, the two images to be hidden are encoded into a complex amplitude image, and then with the help of the CFPM located in the Fresnel transform (FrT) domain and the three-step PSDH, the complex amplitude image can be encoded into three noise-like interference holograms.

A Novel Dynamic Process Monitoring Algorithm: Dynamic Orthonormal Subspace Analysis
Abstract : Orthonormal subspace analysis (OSA) is proposed for handling the subspace decomposition issue and the principal component selection issue in traditional key performance indicator (KPI)-related process monitoring methods such as partial least squares (PLS) and canonical correlation analysis (CCA). However, it is not appropriate to apply the static OSA algorithm to a dynamic process since OSA pays no attention to the auto-correlation relationships in variables.
