Estimates show that hundreds of refugees from the Nuba Mountains, who fled the fighting in Sudan, currently live in Israel. Despite the danger they face in their home country, both Israel and the international community ignore their plight. Over the years, tens of thousands of African refugees have entered Israel.

The attempt to outlaw Israeli human rights organizations means the Jewish state may soon be forced to shed its image of a liberal democratic state. Are Israelis ready for that? The war of attrition against Israel’s human rights community took a dark turn last week. Hardly anyone noticed.
