Festival Review: Primavera Sound Barcelona 2026

Thursday’s weather is well-documented. The main stage kicked off with Blood Orange, with a timeslot that seemed to keep an artist of his size with a smaller crowd but still drawing those ready to move and dance, and try to push the oncoming dark clouds away. A varied set of nostalgia and newer releases of his trademark slickness, with a Smiths cover thrown in for good measure.

Four Worst Clashes At Primavera Sound 2026

What year is this 2011? This triple clash is between some of the most nostalgic heavy hitters of the festival. After having to pull out of playing both weekends in Primavera’s return after the pandemic in 2022, Massive Attack are back to headline and play the Esterlla Damm stage on the first day. At the same time, Mac DeMarco plays Occident while Panda Bear plays the Auditori. It’s a clash of artists that do a lot of heavy lifting in East London cafes.

I was sat outside in my garden the other day, sweating profusely through my t-shirt as with the rest of the capital, and found myself thinking: “I really don’t like the heat sometimes.” Luckily for me, Primavera Sound has rolled around the corner much, much faster than I expected, so a trip to Barcelona is on the cards next week. So much for taking a break from the sun.
