Introduction Some parents of young autistic children report that aspects of their children's behavioral repertoires negatively impact their autistic children and their families (Leadbitter et al., 2018). For example, autistic preschoolers are more likely to act aggressively (e.g., hitting, biting) toward others as compared to nonautistic preschoolers, and this can impede the development of autistic children's peer relationships and decrease family quality of life (Sivathasan et al., 2024).
