Nevada's Lilly Urban earns First-Team All-American with fifth place in javelin at NCAAs

It's been 20 years since a Nevada outdoor track and field athlete took home First-Team All-American honors, until now. Nevada junior Lilly Urban came into the NCAA Track and Field Championships hopeful of making her goal of First-Team All-America. Not only did she achieve that, she stepped on the podium in fifth place, which is the highest finish in a javelin NCAA Championship event for the Wolf Pack. "It means everything," Urban said. "I didn't really expect it.

Reed stars Taua Puloka, Breanna Staats headline Raiders' national signing day

Two of Northern Nevada's top high school athletes took part in a signing-day ceremony this week in advance of moving their games to the college level. Reed High had 25 student athletes put pen to paper on signing day. Two of those Raiders are headed to Division I programs in basketball star Taua Puloka and softball standout Breanna Staats. Puloka officially signed to play for Nevada women's basketball under head coach Kelly Sopak.

But the pins placed on Audrey Sutherland’s bedroom map represent something different. “I made this map as a vision of all the schools that have reached out to me in some way,” Sutherland said as she pointed to her custom-made map with pinpoints of every college that's reached out.
