INTRODUCTION The term ‘hair loss’ describes a state of imbalance between the anagen and telogen phases in the process of hair follicle cycling. A majority of the world's population is affected by the condition. The development of hair loss is associated with environmental and intrinsic factors; these include sebum composition, infections, scalp microbiome, hormone levels, immune regulation, cytokines, growth factors, stress and genetics as well as synergistic interactions among these factors [1].
