Covalent organic frameworks with ultra-broadband absorption for efficient solar-driven water evaporation
Abstract Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) demonstrate application prospects in solar-driven water evaporation (SDWE). Nevertheless, the reported COFs intrinsically lack the capacity to harvest infrared light, which results in inferior photothermal conversion efficiency and thereby retards the water evaporation rate. Here we report a class of Cl-functionalized COFs with ultra-broadband absorption spanning 200–1,500 nm and strong non-radiative relaxation capacity for enhancing SDWE performance.
Localized potential wells enabling directional electron transport boost photocatalytic uranium extraction from natural seawater
Abstract The directional induction of photoelectron transport to atomic active sites is critical for boosting photocatalytic uranium extraction; however, achieving such tuning remains a grand challenge. Here we report a localized potential well engineering strategy that facilitates the directional injection of photogenerated electrons towards the atomic active sites, which enhance photocatalytic uranium extraction from natural seawater.
Case Report: Primary cutaneous infection caused by Microascus trigonosporus
Abstract Background: Microascus trigonosporus is an emerging opportunistic filamentous fungus, with most reported cases involving invasive pulmonary infections in solid organ transplant recipients. Worldwide, cutaneous infections caused by this organism are extremely rare. This case highlights an unusual presentation of primary cutaneous infection in a non-transplant host.

Construction and validation of a prediction system for postherpetic neuralgia: based on meta-analysis
Abstract Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is a chronic and intractable pain disorder. Existing PHN prediction systems have limited clinical applicability. A systematic search of the literature was conducted in PubMed, Web of Science, Embase and the Cochrane Library between 1950 and 2025, finally 44 studies were included (PROSPERO: CRD420251011300).
Transforming a Poaching Hotspot: Embedded NGO Governance Between State and Community in Southern China
1 Introduction A growing body of research highlights the role of NGOs as brokers of collaborative governance and the application of this governance mode to nature conservation (Pörtner et al. 2023). NGOs are often more embedded in local contexts than formal authorities and possess the flexibility to navigate complex political and social environments (Baird 2016; Abbott 2023; Doucet et al. 2024).
Sustained hyperactivity of parasubthalamic nucleus by PACAP signaling mediates stress-induced anxiety
Abstract Stress represents a major risk factor for anxiety disorders, yet the underlying circuit and molecular substrates through which stress causes anxiety remain elusive. We employed an established stress paradigm to induce anxiety-like behaviors in mice and found that stress causes robust and sustained activation of glutamatergic neurons in the parasubthalamic nucleus (PSTh). Moreover, inhibition of those neurons significantly reduced anxiety-like behavior in stressed animals.
Synergistic interfacial-mechanical binder design for high-areal-capacity and long-lifespan Si-based negative electrodes in practical pouch cells
Abstract The pursuit of high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries demands high-silicon silicon-graphite composite negative electrodes, yet their commercialization remains hindered by interfacial incompatibility and mechanical instability. While an ideal binder must simultaneously achieve robust adhesion to both silicon and graphite, accommodate substantial silicon volume changes, and maintain high binder bulk stability, existing systems fail to harmonize these requirements.

X-ray examination of a tissue-engineered epithelial sheet during transportation
Abstract Autologous tissue-engineered epithelial sheets (TEESs) are generally transported by dedicated couriers. The cost of this technology can be reduced by using cold-chain courier services, in which the TEESs are subjected to X-rays during security checks. We exposed TEESs to a widely used X-ray luggage-control system to the maximum dose limited by regional regulations. DNA fragmentation, unique variants by exome sequencing, and proliferative capabilities were not altered after X-ray exposure.
Weak localized electrons enhance electronic coherence for efficient photocatalytic uranium removal from nuclear wastewater - Nature Communications
Abstract Photocatalytic uranium removal from nuclear wastewater is a promising strategy for radionuclide mitigation, yet its practical deployment is greatly hampered by inefficient charge separation of electron-hole pairs in photocatalytic systems, which critically limits the generation of reactive oxygen species essential for uranium precipitation.
Regenerative potential of CD200 - subpopulations of hair follicle bulge
Abstract The hair follicle bulge is regarded as a reservoir of epithelial stem cells for hair regeneration. Hair follicle bulge cells are generally characterized by CD200 expression. However, the relationship between CD200+ bulge subpopulations and human hair regenerative capacity remains unknown.

Uptake, Translocation, and Metabolism of 14C-Quinotrione in Pak Choi
Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Few studies have examined the environmental fate of quinotrione, a new type of 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD)-inhibiting herbicide in plants. In this study, the uptake, translocation, and metabolism of quinotrione in pak choi were explored using 14C-labeling method and high-resolution mass spectrometry. The results showed that 57.7% of 14C-quinotrione was accumulated by pak choi via foliar application.
Thermal Conductivity Modeling and Characterization for Woven Fabric Polymer Composites Modified With Nanofillers
Woven fabric polymer (WFP) composites inherently possess low thermal conductivity, which limits their applications in thermal management. Three types of nanofillers, including particle-type nano zinc oxide (nano-ZnO), rod-type carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and flake-type graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs), are selected based on their geometrical morphologies. Their effects on the thermal conductive characteristics of WFP composites are systematically analyzed.

Geography-guided industrial-level upcycling of polyethylene terephthalate plastics through alkaline seawater-based processes
Abstract The escalating plastic crisis can be mitigated by upgrading waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Leveraging the geographical advantages of offshores with established chlor-alkali industries, abundant renewable energy, and extensive seawater, we here present a technically and economically viable strategy of harnessing natural seawater as a medium to transform PET plastics into high-value chemicals.

Nutrients | Free Full-Text | Association between the Preoperative Dietary Antioxidant Index and Postoperative Quality of Life in Patients with Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Prospective Study Based on the TTD Model
1. Introduction Esophageal cancer is considered to be one of the most aggressive types of gastrointestinal cancers [1]. The global cancer statistics for 2020 indicate that there are 604,000 new and 544,000 deaths from esophageal cancer, making it the sixth leading cause of death worldwide [2]. Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma are the main histological types, with ESCC being more common in China [3].
Synthesis of 1H-Isochromenes via Iridium-Catalyzed Cascade C-H Activation/Annulation of Pyridotriazoles at Room Temperature
An efficient iridium-catalyzed C–H activation/annulation reaction utilizing pyridotriazole as the traceless bifunctional directing group and carbene precursor to form 1H-isochromenes was described. This reaction proceeded smoothly under an additive-free condition at room temperature, which is compatible with a wide range of functional groups in high yields.
Stable Immobilization of Nickel Ions on Covalent Organic Frameworks for Panchromatic Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution
Graphical Abstract Unlocking a stacked layered structure of a two-dimensional covalent organic framework (COF) is achieved by solvothermal conditions to enable stable coordination with Ni(II) ions via the 2,2’-bipyridine moiety. Such COF-Ni(II) complex exhibits an improved light absorption ability and boosts photocatalytic H2 generation (51,300 μmol h-1 g-1) in a total visible spectrum, even under 700-nm irradiation.
