Contrasting Terrestrial Moisture Controls on Precipitation and Interannual Variability across the Southern and Northern Tibetan Plateau
Abstract The Tibetan Plateau (TP) plays a crucial role in the Asian hydrological cycle, yet the dominant moisture sources and their governing physical processes remain debated. Here, we employ the Eulerian water tracer technique embedded in Community Earth System Model version 1 (CESM1), together with Lagrangian tracking and isotopic analysis, to quantify moisture sources of summer and winter precipitation over the TP during 2003–2021.

Molecular-level insights into organic aerosol evolution and gas-particle partitioning in Beijing using a vaporization inlet coupled with Vocus PTR-MS
Abstract Elucidating the molecular-level evolution of organic aerosols (OA) is fundamental to understanding atmospheric chemistry and its climatic impacts, yet current analytical techniques are often constrained by thermal decomposition and fragmentation artifacts. In this study, we deployed a novel Vaporization Inlet for Aerosols coupled with a Vocus Proton Transfer Reaction Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer (VIA-PTR) during a wintertime field campaign in urban Beijing.
Substantial nitrogen abatement accompanying decarbonization suppresses terrestrial carbon sinks in China - Nature Communications
Abstract China faces challenges in reaching its carbon neutrality goal by the year 2060 to meet the Paris Agreement and improving air quality simultaneously. Dramatic nitrogen emission reductions will be brought by this ambitious target, yet their impact on the natural ecosystem is not clear.
Upscaling waste human hairs into micro/nanorobots for adsorptive removal of micro/nanoplastics
Plastics are extensively utilized in various applications due to their exceptional plasticity, flexibility, durability, stability, and low-cost features. The fragmentation is the process by which plastics decompose into smaller particles once they enter the environment. Decomposed plastics are classified according to their dimensions, wherein microplastics (MPs) have a diameter of less than 5 mm and nanoplastics (NPs) range in diameter from 1 to 1000 nm [1].
Nanofluids with superhydrophobic nanoparticles for improved depressurization mechanism in low permeability reservoirs
Low-permeability reservoirs are rich in oil resources, accounting for two-thirds of China's oil reserves, and are gradually becoming the focus of reservoir development [1], [2]. The inherently challenging nature of low-permeability reservoirs, characterized by small pore throats, high capillary pressure, and low permeability, presents significant obstacles to efficient energy extraction [3].
