With the country’s economy continuing to scramble between its debt-funded booms and deficits-driven busts, the purchasing power of the already pinching and scraping masses has so drastically eroded they are forced to cut corners even on their very basic needs. Everything has become very expensive, from food to property, while the wages of the general public, which makes up the majority of the population, have stagnated.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan’s (MQM-P) senior deputy convener Mustafa Kamal has claimed that someone from the party’s disgruntled London faction, which has been dubbed as MQM-London (MQM-L), has been working as an “insider and agent” within the MQM-P’s coordination committee. Kamal made this claim in a video message hours after his leaked audio clip started making the rounds on social media and was shared by MQM-L convener Mustafa Azizabadi on his X handle.

The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) has cancelled all examinations for the post of Grade-16 Secondary School (SST) teachers after a paper was found leaked on Tuesday. According to the SPSC secretary, the commission has unanimously decided to cancel all the papers of the SST in general and science category, whether already held or to be held from February 16 to February 26, 2024.
