CNN — Barbara Byrd-Bennett, 66, will plead guilty to 15 counts of mail fraud and five counts of wire fraud, said Zachary T. Fardon, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois. Byrd-Bennett's attorney, Michael Scudder, said his client would do so "as part of accepting full responsibility for her conduct." Scudder said Byrd-Bennett will continue to cooperate with prosecutors and will testify if needed. Byrd-Bennett is accused of helping SUPES Entities win contracts to train school administrators or consult in the school system. She was promised a 10% kickback from each contract that would be paid on the first day after she left her job as CEO of the school system and rejoined SUPES, an indictment alleges.

The school's president issued a statement later that day, acknowledging the message had particular resonance coming so soon after the shooting at Oregon's Umpqua Community College, where a gunman killed nine people. "In light of the recent tragedy at Umpqua Community College in Oregon, I am acutely aware that this morning's announcement concerning a threat of violence posted in one of our campus buildings is disturbing and unsettling for all of us," said President Michael Benson. The school continued to issue updates on its website before announcing its decision to call off all classes Wednesday through the weekend.

CNN — Nogales police said it was possible the marijuana was dropped by an ultralight aircraft because drug bundles are known to have been dropped by small aircraft. But police suspect pilot error may be to blame because usually the bundles, when discovered by police, are dropped on the city outskirts or in the desert. "Normally they don't land on houses," Detective Robert Ferros told CNN. The 28-pound bundle, packaged in brown and black tape, "was actually kind of light" compared with previous drug drops intercepted by police, Ferros said. "We have seen bundles of marijuana being carried by ultralight aircraft weighing several hundred or a thousand pounds," he said.

Moloney didn't know why Dykema had collected so many bladed weapons. "It looks like she had an obsession with them," she said. Deputies found other strange things in the Brooksville residence, like an altar with skulls arranged around it, Moloney said. "It appears there was some satanic thing going on," Moloney said.

CNN — Mayor Jill Swain said police and animal cruelty officials seized the dogs and equipment and tools used to train dogs to fight. CNN affiliate WSOC of nearby Charlotte said there were seven puppies recovered. Kathryn Destrezea of the ASPCA told the station the dogs would be examined for health and behavioral issues and her group would get them to a place where they could be comfortable. Photos taken by the ASPCA show some of the adult dogs living in muddy conditions, tied to long chains. Some of the dogs had broken teeth, some had scars and some were very thin, WSOC reported, citing investigators.

Eric Murphy said. Clyde, 32, left his handgun and shirt on a desk inside and waited outside with his hands up until police arrived, Murphy said. "He deals with the homeless population every day, and basically he just said that he was tired of watching them urinate and defecate and having sex and vandalizing the city park," Murphy told CNN affiliate KCWY.

Muhammad Oda Dakhlalla and Jaelyn Delshaun Young were arrested at a Mississippi airport on Saturday. Authorities say they were planning to travel overseas to join the terror group. An initial court appearance from Monday was continued to today, when a criminal complaint will be announced. CNN obtained a copy of the criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court. Law enforcement sources confirmed it is genuine but said the final version of the complaint could change.
