JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT)— The Great American Eclipse is less than a month away, and excitement is building nationwide. Millions of Americans are in the path of totality. NASA Space Weather Director Jamie Favors said when the moon fully obstructs the sun, you will see something you cannot see usually. “You actually get to see the really faint outer atmosphere of the sun that we normally can’t see here from earth,” Favors said.

BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. (KAIT) - As we countdown to the Great American Eclipse, many are picking up or buying eclipse glasses, which is a vital piece of protection for the day. “So, whatever you do, remember rule number one, do not look directly at the exposed sun,” Blytheville Optometrist Dr. Matthew Jones said. It may seem like common sense to not look directly at the sun on any normal day, but it also applies on solar eclipse day as well.
