Sorry, no post last week. Hadn’t planned on posting anyway, as we were on vacation in NYC. And then a couple minutes after landing in NY, my sister called me to tell me my dad had died overnight. It was obviously a gut punch. It was unexpected. He had just got home from Maine, where he was with family for my cousin’s wedding. We briefly texted on Father’s Day a few days before.

Y’all been watching the World Cup? It’s been fun seeing fans from around the world come experience the USA via social media. And Mexico. I have not seen a ton from Canada, but maybe that’s just my algorithm. Of course, the best is watching them explore Texas. They love it. But I really wish they’d go somewhere besides Terry Black’s for BBQ. But there is one guy… bloody Freddy from Germany. If you’re online at all, I’m sure you’ve seen him. At first it was fun reading his posts.

Those Lime bikes, which are everywhere downtown, are just bike-shaped scooters. They don’t even have pedals. Normally on the insta, I would not count such “bikes” as photo worthy, but they are most often used by tourists (I quickly know they are unique to the insta) or normally non-bike riders. Plus often make for good photos (they are green). So I make an exception for Lime Gliders, as they are called. Sure, not really bikes, but they give off that fun bike vibe.
