The 37th Annual Monroe Balloon and Bands festival took place over Father’s Day Weekend, June 19-20. While wind and some rain dampened the mood for launches on Friday night and Saturday morning, the skies cleared enough by Saturday evening for a late launch and night glow, pleasing the crowd at the Green County Fairgrounds. Tethered rides by the public were also available for a fee.

MONROE — Gov. Tony Evers, together with Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Amy Pechacek, visited Monroe and Stevens Point on Monday, March 30 to highlight projects that received funding through the successful Workforce Innovation Grant Program.

MONROE — U.S. Representative Mark Pocan (D-02) held six in-district town halls this week as congress is gaveled off from Washington. On Tuesday, May 26, Pocan held open town halls in Darlington and Monroe. The following day he went to Mineral Point and Reedsburg, and finished the short tour at Edgerton and Madison on May 28.
