Construction workers on Sumner Avenue braved the high heat and humidity throughout the day. Meanwhile, at nearby Forest Park, individuals attempted to get their walks and bike rides in during the cooler parts of the morning, while others found respite in shaded areas. The extreme weather prompted the opening of the splash pad for public use.
