Brookland fire department converts second squad truck for medical calls

BROOKLAND, Ark. (KAIT) - The Brookland Fire Department has upgraded an additional squad truck with medical equipment and is sending it home with volunteer firefighters each night, putting trained responders closer to the more than 11,000 people in the Brookland Fire District. The truck, which previously carried water and hoses, is now equipped with medical gear. Fire Chief Wayne Reece said the change allows firefighters to respond to medical calls directly from home.
