A Cork care facility claims it faces an “existential crisis” over funding as it seeks to change its charitable status in an effort to stem operating losses. Lobbying disclosures from the St Luke’s care home in Blackrock show it asked politicians to try to change the status of the home from an S39 not-for-profit organisation to an S38 body.

Adam Sweeney wrote himself into the annals of history as he stood at the summit of Mount Everest in the early hours of Wednesday, May 20. At 22 years old, Sweeney became the youngest Irish person to summit Everest, the world’s highest peak at 8,848.86m above sea level. In many ways, his life is far removed from those of his peers. Yet he says he still battles the same ills that plague most of Gen Z, with self-consciousness and fear of judgement almost denying him his place in history.

Three Irish music festivals seek €580,000 compensation after Tickets.ie collapse

Three independent music festivals have joined forces to seek compensation for approximately €580,000 in losses arising from the the closure of Tickets.ie. Leitrim’s Cowboys and Heroes country music festival, Donegal’s Rory Gallagher International Festival, and Rockathon in Meath were among some of the biggest operators tied to the ticketing agent. Each scheduled their festival from late May to early June, but have been unable to generate an invoice from ticket sales on the now defunct Tickets.ie.
