The diversity of building services engineering was evident in the wide-ranging subjects tackled at the 2026 CIBSE Technical Symposium in March. Titled Fit for 2050 – Redesigning spaces for wellbeing, inclusivity and sustainable performance, the symposium showcased in excess of 80 peer-reviewed research papers to an audience of around 250 at Loughborough University. Topics ranged from the right sizing of heat pumps, to the impact of AI, and use of yoghurt to prevent overheating.
