I started freelance writing during my time as a high school English teacher. My main areas of expertise were arts end entertainment. I covered big events like the Sundance Film Festival and San Diego Comic Con while writing about local music and film.

Over time I gravitated toward the food and dining beat which led me to my current position as the dining columnist for Salt Lake City Weekly. I am also a regular contributor to Static Media's Chowhound where I write about food and culture.

With all the development going on in the Daybreak area surrounding the Ballpark at America First Square, it’s been an interesting time to be a South Jordan resident. Outside of the commercial area that has already been established, there’s all kinds of room for expansion. Based on what I’ve seen so far, that expansion has made a concerted effort to invite existing local businesses to the party.
