I believe it's an honor to be entrusted with people's stories. I love having an excuse to talk to people about things I'm interested in.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
A profile of a lifer who started a college program that educated over 1500 inmates. He and others believe it led to his eventual freedom.
What's your favorite drink?
coffee or rosé, depending on the time of day. All other times, bubbly water.

2017 - Feature Writing
A story about Rubicon Bakers, and its program to give those who need it a second chance won a San Francisco Press Club award.
Simon Rockower Award of the American Jewish Press Association
2019 - profile, women's issues, food
I have won many of these awards over the years, but 2019 was a personal best. I won three first prizes in three different categories.
