I came across this post this afternoon when I was preparing to write My Sunday List. I was struck by the confidence in my words. There are some ideas here that are still with me, almost eight months later. But I must’ve eaten my Wheaties that day—that feeling that comes with hitting my stride and connecting my thoughts and my fingers is like no other. I often write in bursts. So anyway, I thought I’d share it with everybody.

Hi and happy Sunday to my Autotelic family. I thought I’d try something different today and go back to the first time I published a Sunday List, February 12, 2023. I’ve felt like I want to freshen things up around here, at least a little, and I know I have to know where I’ve been before I can decide where I’m going. So I’m pausing to reflect on who I was at the beginning of 2023, what I was thinking, what I liked, what was going on. A lot has changed.

Allison, I have had tragedy in my life, my best friend hit and killed walking home inebriated from our local country bar, my brother suiciding at age 21, and my mother dying 10 months after him with brain cancer just diagnosed. My question is do you dream about your mother and father? I dream of my friend and family but they refuse to talk to me. You were dealt a tragedy and that is why I wonder if others have the dreams. They always leave me so sad and confused.
