WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP) - Seven departments share more than $282,000 in Ohio State Fire Marshal funding. Seven volunteer fire departments in Washington County have been awarded a combined $282,582.03 in state grant money through the Ohio State Fire Marshal. The grants are part of an $8 million statewide program targeting volunteer fire departments in smaller counties. Of Ohio’s 85 counties, 77 qualified under the small county designation.

MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - Second annual event features 65 vendors, food trucks and shooting ranges. The second annual Ohio River Hunting and Fishing Expo wrapped up this weekend, drawing more than 2,000 guests over two days. The expo featured more than 65 vendors, food trucks, a kids’ zone and both BB and archery shooting ranges. The event was co-hosted by Alissa McPeek and Heidi Comstock, co-owners of the Barn at White Pine Acres, alongside Sarah Schmidt, owner of Ivory and Rust.

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Red Cross chapter covers 19 counties, relies on donations and volunteer responders. The American Red Cross Mid-Ohio Valley chapter responds to more than 200 home fires each year across 19 counties, and the program runs almost entirely on donations and volunteers, according to Community Disaster Program Manager Todd Wines. March is Red Cross Month, a time the organization uses to highlight its services in the community.
