What was your first job as a journalist?

My first ever gig was a freelance story for The Queens Daily Eagle covering the Queens County Fair. I covered and photographed it in person.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

I used a typewriter in elementary school. My dad would bring out my grandma's typewriter and let me practice my vocabulary on it for fun!

How is social media changing news?

One way is that it's spreading our work faster and farther than ever. Stories reach people whether they're searching for the news or not.

Was awarded the Excellence in Journalism award during my junior year of undergrad at Baruch College — an honor normally reserved for seniors. I was the only one to receive this award this year.

Received first place National Apple Award from the College Media Association for “The Newest New Yorkers,” a reporting and editing project I participated in through my Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism editing class. The project, of which I was co-managing editor and a story editor, covered the influx of asylum-seeking migrants to New York City.
