The Body, the Void and Anish Kapoor Nearly three decades after his landmark exhibition at London’s Hayward Gallery, India-born British sculptor Anish Kapoor has returned with an ambitious exhibition that pushes viewers into a world of illusion, ritual and raw physicality. Bringing together new commissions alongside older, seminal works, the exhibition revisits Kapoor’s enduring pre-occupations with voids, perception, the body and the porous boundary between object and non-object.

Less successful, however, was the choreography. The measured pace of the models generated little dramatic tension, even as Indian instrumental music attempted to lift the mood. Casting, too, felt like a missed opportunity. This was a privately produced presentation rather than an official Fédération show and thus the casting was entirely the designer’s own decision.
