12-year-old arrested in Northeast DC killing of 13-year-old

A 12-year-old boy was arrested and charged in the death of a 13-year-old boy who was shot and killed in Northeast D.C. in July, authorities say. Ahmad Mims was killed after two young people knocked on his apartment door on July 11. He was set to start eighth grade at KIPP Northeast Charter School. Members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force found and arrested the 12-year-old suspect on Wednesday, police said. He was charged with voluntary manslaughter while armed.
