While the neighborhood didn't get formal recognition from the city until 2015, ask business owners there and you'll hear tales of its trailblazers. Terry Sidie, owner of Faces Nightclub, is one of the block's pioneers though it wasn't originally part of his plan to end up here.

Marysville couple saves woman stuck upside down in water after crash

LIVE OAK, Calif. — A Marysville couple are being hailed as heroes after saving a woman’s life who got into a rollover crash. It happened just after noon Monday in Live Oak. The driver, a 75-year-old woman, crashed into an irrigation canal full of water on Larkin Road. Cyle Johnson, 28, and his wife Ashley, 27, were visiting a home on Larkin Road and their daughter was playing out front when she witnessed the crash. She told her parents, and Cyle Johnson jumped over the fence into the canal.

Hughson High School in running for new scoreboard, upgraded weight room. Here's how to vote

HUGHSON, Calif. — Hughson High School could get a $100,000 grant, a new scoreboard and an upgraded weight room — but they need help to carry them into the end zone. The Stanislaus County school is up against 15 other schools nationwide as part of T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights competition.
