By Andrew Ryan | 1 June 2026 News Fleets are being urged to introduce policies to recognise and manage diabetes and its associated risks in the workplace. Research by The Diabetes Society, in collaboration with the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety and Driving for Better Business and in association with the Road Haulage Association, has found that commercial drivers are twice as likely to develop type 2 diabetes, yet most fleets have no plan in place to manage it.
