Andy Jones’s Biography

Dr. Andy Jones has hosted "Dr. Andy's Poetry and Technology Hour" on radio station KDVS since 2000. In that time he has interviewed over 1,500 guests, including Margaret Atwood, Chris Brogan, John Lescroart, Michael McClure, Ralph Nader, Dana Gioia, and Gary Snyder.

Having taught writing at UC Davis since 1990, Andy has published essays in regional newspapers such as The Sacramento Bee, The Davis Enterprise, and The Davis Vanguard. His classes have included "Writing for Publication," "Writing Across Media," and "Silicon Valley Journalism and Internet Culture." He was named "Educator of the Year" at UC Davis in 2006.

Dr. Andy has authored four books: His poetry books include "Split Stock," "Where's Jukie," and "In the Almond Orchard: Coming Home from War." In 2017 he published "Pub Quizzes: Trivia for Smart People." He writes and has taught workshops on writing, social media, personal productivity, poetry, and children with special needs. In 2014 Dr. Andy was named the Poet Laureate of Davis, California.
