Ange Iliza

I am a freelance, multi-media journalist based in Kigali, Rwanda, with strong passion for journalistic storytelling. My work revolves around raising the curtains on issues that would never be told otherwise. I get fulfillment from connecting the dots and drawing the bigger picture from subtle patterns. I believe information offer fresh perspective and I strive for my audience to be equipped with both.

I have 5 years of experience working for major local and regional newspapers most notably The East African and Rwanda Today newspapers, published by Nation Media Group, the biggest media company in East and Central Africa and The New Times, Rwanda's leading daily English newspaper. I have also worked with international media houses and my byline has appeared in continental newspapers.

I write about public interest stories, current affairs, youth, technology, health, women, and business. Prior to my career as a journalist, I was the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Rwanda’s student newspaper.

I have extensive academic background in journalism, communication and public management and leadership. I am the Mandela Washington Fellowship 2022 Alumni with a certificate from Wayne State University, Michigan, US. I have a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Rwanda.
