Asymmetric dual-process mechanisms under symbolic exposure: music-induced destination perception
Abstract Background: Music connects listeners with places through imagery, cultural meanings, and personal associations. How cognitive and emotional responses relate to place attachment and behavioral intentions in destination-song contexts remains unclear. Objective: This study examines cognitive–affective pathway differences and the relational role of place attachment.

Longitudinal association between negative life events and depression among Chinese senior high school students: the mediating role of psychological inflexibility and the moderating role of meaning in life
Abstract Background: Negative life events are a risk factor for depression among Chinese senior high school students. Psychological inflexibility may mediate this relationship, whereas meaning in life may serve as a buffer. Prior cross-sectional studies lack temporal evidence; this two-wave 3-month time-lagged design preliminarily tests sequential moderated mediation, whereas multiwave data support stronger causal inference.
Can the low-altitude economy promote high-quality agricultural development? From the perspective of factor mobility
Abstract The low-altitude economy, characterized by high-tech support, efficient operations, and high-quality development, has become a new engine for cultivating new quality productive forces in agriculture and accelerating the modernization of agriculture and rural areas. Based on the Chinese government’s new development philosophy, this study constructs a comprehensive index of high-quality agricultural development.
Comparative effects of short- and long-distance sprint training on speed, change-of-direction ability, and intermittent aerobic endurance in collegiate basketball players
Abstract Background: This study compared the effects of short-distance sprint training (SST) and long-distance sprint training (LST), under matched total training volume, on sprint performance, change-of-direction (COD) performance and intermittent aerobic endurance in collegiate basketball players. Methods: Thirty male collegiate basketball players were stratified by playing position before being randomly assigned to either the SST group (n = 15) or the LST group (n = 15).

Abstract Introduction: Drawing on dual-process theory and uses-and-gratifications (U&G) perspectives, this study develops the Immersive Gratification Model (IGM) to explain compulsive engagement with erotic/pornographic content (EPC) in virtual reality (VR).
The pro-metastatic role of microbiota in tumors: a comprehensive review
Cancer metastasis remains a major obstacle in oncology and significantly worsens patient outcomes. A key challenge lies in understanding when and how tumor cells overcome biological barriers to spread, and to what extent external or internal factors modulate this process. Among these, the human microbiota—comprising trillions of microbes vastly outnumbering human cells—has emerged as a crucial regulator of both health and disease.

Recovery kinetics following matches in congested vs. non-congested schedules: effects on pressure pain sensitivity, delayed onset muscle soreness, and muscular performance in soccer players
This study investigated recovery responses in male Under-19 soccer players over a 48-hour period following a match, comparing congested (CW) versus non-congested (RW) schedules. Nineteen male provincial-level players (Tier 2: trained/developmental) who started and played at least 60 min in each match of both study weeks participated.

Editorial: Advances in GIS and remote sensing applications in the monitoring of regional hydrology, ecology and environment
Climate warming and accelerating human pressures are reshaping regional hydrological regimes, ecosystem functioning, and environmental quality, with impacts especially acute in arid and semi-arid landscapes. In such settings, small shifts in precipitation timing, evapotranspiration demand, or land-surface conditions can rapidly intensify water scarcity, land degradation, and vulnerability to extremes.

The theory of social determinants of health reveals that health disparities aren’t just about biological differences—they are largely driven by complex social mechanisms (1). Non-medical factors like living environment, economic status, and social support play a decisive role in determining health outcomes (2, 3).
