Rethinking healthy eating policy and public reason: a reply to commentators
ABSTRACT Should governments promote healthy eating and, if so, under which conditions are their policies in this area legitimate? For example, should governments impose taxes on sugary drinks or promote the consumption of fruits and vegetables? In our book, Healthy Eating Policy and Political Philosophy: A Public Reason Approach, we argue that the legitimacy of these and similar healthy eating efforts is grounded in the idea of public reason.
